Budget Friendly Hawaii Wedding Venue

Jacyln and Shane

Jaclyn and Shane’s wedding this May was one of my favorites in a very busy month. They are such a fun couple and their taste in florals, decor and friends is seriously top notch!

They wanted a spring flower and greenery theme to their decor and custom ordered a floral runner from Lalamilo Flower Girl as well as all of their personal flowers and leis. Did she seriously deliver or what!?

Anyone else catch that HP reference on their cake topper? Love it!

Future couples take note, if you want a cake topper, a wire one like this is a great addition to a cake with floral decoration.

They had the sweetest first look out by our squash patch. Shane started crying almost right away which made me (and probably everyone else around) start to cry too.

Bula Akamu was their musician and he was great, as always. Did you know he is classically trained at Berklee College of Music? It seriously shows.

Pictures like these are why I always encourage my clients to schedule in plenty of time for portraits - either before the wedding (hence the first look) or during an extra long cocktail hour. Jaclyn and Shane took my advice (of course they did, they are the best) and had enough time for these super fun animal pictures.

On the right is Diana Ross, a chicken who is at least 8 years old and is still laying and hatching eggs! She actually just hatched a group of 7 chicks a couple months after this picture. On the left is Dolly, one of our friendlist goats, and a least picky eaters. She will go almost anywhere for treats.

From Jackie and Shane

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Shane: The first look

Jackie: I'd also say the first look, just the two of us getting to take a few minutes by ourselves.

What was your favorite wedding detail?

Jackie: It was all amazing, but I'm so glad we had live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour. It set the mood perfectly.

Any advice for future couples?

Shane: Just relax and enjoy the day.

Jackie: I would tell other couples to do what they want , its their wedding day and their marriage and it should be exactly what they want it to be.

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

Shane: Not knowing if the bus that picked us all up would make it up the giant hill and everyone having to get out to make sure we wouldn't bottom out lol.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

Shane: Maybe showed up to the venue a little earlier than we had planned to give some extra time to relax and get ready before the ceremony started.

Jackie: Thinking about it later, I would have loved for our photographer to get pictures of our friends that I could have given them as gifts later, but otherwise I thought the day was perfect.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

We flew over to Kauai for 2 more amazing weeks. We hiked, and dove with seals and ate tons of shave ice!
